Longacre Liquid Fill Tire Pressure Gauge
At Last... A Liquid Filled Tire Gauge That Works Right!
- 2 1/2" Deluxe Gauge with protective bumper
- Holds pressure reading until released
- Glow-in-the-Dark dial face
- 17" hose with swivel ball chuck
- Specially designed vent button to equalize pressure and maintain gauge accuracy
Liquid filled gauges have many advantages. But they can change readings by as much as 2-3 psi if the temperature changes...
All pressure gauges - liquid filled and regular - need to be vented to the outside to read accurately. If not vented, as the surrounding temperature changes, they will build up pressure inside and affect the accuracy - by as much as 2-3 psi!
But if a liquid filled gauge is vented it will leak on your hands and in your tool box. Some manufacturers aren't aware of this and don't vent the gauge. You then have to deal with the variation in accuracy.
Now from Longacre comes the simple answer to this problem. We have installed a specially designed pressure equalizer button on the top of the gauge. Before you use the gauge just push this button. Instantly any temperature-caused pressure difference will be eliminated and you will be guaranteed the most accurate readings possible.
If you have a liquid filled tire gauge prove it to yourself. Take your gauge that has been in a cool place and in the typical range you use. Then take the gauge and put it out in the sun for about 45 minutes, as would happen during a race. Then re-check the tire that is still in the cool place. You will see that the reading has changed. You know that the pressure in the tire is the same so the gauge reading must now be off. How will this affect your handling to have tire pressures high or low by several psi? What's worse is that you don't know at what temp the gauge is actually correct! It depends on the temp in the factory when it was manufactured. You could remove the rubber fill plug on the gauge. But then the liquid would leak out.

Longacre Toe-In Plates
These Aluminum Toe Plates from Longacre Racing allow even the most casual mechanic to measure Toe on the front of your vehicle. Toe-In is a very critical suspension setting that if out of whack can lead to very interesting handling.
Here's a quick run-down on how to use them:
This is a fast way to check / set front end toe. It is affected by wheel or tire runout. Be certain wheels run true and tires have no bulges.Turn wheels to straight ahead: Should be done on level ground. Set caster & camber first. Lean plates up against wheels: Folded lip goes to the outside. Be sure the entire plate is up against the wheel. Measure front width, then rear: Use the slots for the tape measure. Subtract one from the other for toe. Larger front width means toe-out.
The plates even come with a set of tape measures so you don't need anything else to measure your Toe! Be sure to check out Longacre's website.

Brake Bleeder Bottle
Simple in concept, this brake bleeder bottle has become a staple in our toolbox. The dual nipple design allows air to escape the bottle which will keep the fluid flowing into the bottle with ease. It also keeps the fluid from blowing up in your face once you take the drain hose off the caliper nipple.
The second nipple also gives the hose a resting place after removing it from the caliper, allowing excess fluid to drip back into the bottle. It features a steel cable that allows you to hang it on the car if necessary.

Motive Black Label Power Bleeder
Normally if you have to bleed your brakes, you'd need expensive equipment or a couple of like minded friends that don't mind sitting around helping you out. This has all changed with the Motive Power Bleeder, the solution to bleeding brakes on your own.
This system creates pressure from elbow grease. Once the system is pressurized, you simply bleed out fluid (and air, supposedly) from each brake caliper.
We carry two models, one that works on all European cars, and one that works for Mazda Miatas.
What's Cool about the Black Label Power bleeder is that it has a swivel fitting in the fluid line. This allows you to tighten the adapter onto the fluid reservoir without causing kinks and twists in the line. Very useful.
