Arai GP-5K

The GP-5K is the result of Arai’s pursuit of a comprehensive package, one providing comfort and function in an attractive package while masking the hidden energy-management system within.

The Gp-5K is largely based on its big brother, the GP-K (PED), while offering a more affordable alternative for drivers not wanting all the features of the more expensive GP-5 (PED). The GP-5K is heavily favored by sedan or rally drivers, who do not require all the upper ventilation found on the FP-5 (PED) while at the same time appreciate the slightly larger eye port opening (Approximately 10mm – 5mm up and 5mm down).

Constructed of Arai’s exclusive CLC (Complex Laminate Construction) shell technology, which is less costly and slightly heavier than our lightest SCLC material, allowing for a lower cost to you, while still providing the same level of impact energy management.

The exterior and interior shape and design are identical to those found on the GP-5 (PED) and utilizes the same shield, shield hardware and tear-offs.

Already pre-drilled for installation of HANS Device posts.

Upper ventilation is comprised of a single intake and single exhaust duct.

The interior fit is typical Arai, benefiting from over 50 years of research and refinement, and resulting in a helmet that more closely matches the shape of the human head. The fit is snug, allowing for the smallest possible helmet to be worn while still being comfortable. (Most often, a poor-fitting helmet results in the driver choosing a helmet that is too big in an effort to avoid painful pressure points inherent in a poor fit).

Combined with its legendary comfort and fit, Arai concentrates on balance and a lower center of gravity. All too often, people concentrate more on the weight of a helmet instead of how that weight is distributed over the entire helmet, how much of the weight is carried down low, and, most importantly, how that weight’s balance is carried on your head – up on top of the helmet where it’s more susceptible to buffeting and where it can cause more stress and discomfort, or down near the shoulder. (A properly fitted helmet will distribute the weight of the helmet more evenly over and around your head, actually making the helmet seem lighter. Helmets that are more evenly balanced and carry more of their weight down low will also appear to be lighter and cause less fatigue.

Arai GP-5/W

The GP-5W Is another representation of Arai’s pursuit of a comprehensive package, one providing comfort and function in an attractive package while masking the hidden energy-management system within.

The Gp-5W is largely based on its big brother, the GP-5 (PED), while taking some cues from the GP-5K model. The eye port of the GP-5W has been enlarged to 90mm (about 3.5”) as compared to the 72mm (2.75”), and should be heavily favored by sedan or rally drivers, while some open wheel drivers have also expressed interest in a larger eye port from Arai.

Constructed of Arai’s exclusive SCLC (Super Complex Laminate Construction) shell technology, which helps offset the added weight of the larger shield. The result is that the GP-5w maintains a low overall weight.

Removable, washable & replaceable cheek pads, which allow more frequent and thorough cleaning and/or replacement for a more personalized fit for those with a narrower or broader facial structure than anticipated with the stock pad dimension.

The exterior and interior shape and design are nearly identical to those found on the GP-5 (PED), but due to the larger eye port opening, the GP-5W uses a new and exclusive shield. However, the shield hardware and tear-offs are the same as used on the other helmets.

Already pre-drilled for installation of HANS Device posts. There is also a special seat for the HANS posts molded into the shell.

Arai GP-JetF

The Jet/F is one of the first Open Faced Helmets we have ever sold here at HMS. We still strongly feel that a closed face helmet is the safest way to sit behind the steering wheel, especially considering how much body movement there is in even the smallest of impacts.

However, the serious Auto-crossers and rally co-pilots have been screaming for an open-faced helmet that meets the exacting standards of safety. When you absolutely need an open-faced helmet, this is the one for you.

Arai’s shell technology yields a very lightweight helmet that wears its weight with a low center of gravity. This helps make the helmet seem even lighter than it is. The cheek pads are removable for frequent cleanings.
